Most clinical apps are reference tools — UpToDate, Osmosis, Amboss, the BNF. They tell you what something is. They don’t simulate what happens if you’re wrong. MedIntel sets out to be a clinician’s pocket companion that does both: an evidence-based reference for the bedside, and a live clinical simulator that gives weight to your decisions.
The marketing surface is at medintel-27829.web.app — Google Play link, full feature tour, pricing, and a hospital cross-sell to MedIntel Clinical Profiling live there.
Three reference surfaces, each tuned for a different question. The Drug Reference covers 4,000+ medicines with age-grouped dosing (neonate · infant · child · teen · adult · elderly), a weight calculator for paediatric and ICU prescribing, renal and hepatic adjustments, and pregnancy safety on every entry. The Disease Reference spans 12 body systems and 120+ conditions, WHO/BNF/NICE-aligned, with ICD-10, diagnostic criteria, red flags, and first-line therapy. The Interaction Checker rates 3, 5, or 10 drugs at once — every pair major / moderate / minor with mechanism and action.

Insurance coverage sits inside the drug profile itself. Tap a medication and see whether it’s covered by NHIF Tanzania, NHIS Ghana, NHIA Kenya, and a growing list of regional schemes. The clinical-pearl button asks Meditrina AI for a quick clarifying note, with citations. Research mode goes deeper for case-side reasoning.
The differentiator. Patient Companion takes the same nicknamed patient list clinicians already use to track real cases and overlays a real clinical simulator on top of it. Five scripted acute scenarios — Septic Shock, STEMI, DKA, Anaphylaxis, Trauma— each with deterministic vital curves (heart rate, blood pressure, SpO₂, temperature), code-blue overlays, and a golden-window survival clock: attend in the next two hours, 60% chance of survival; leave it longer and the math turns against you.
A second mechanic operates on the slow timescale. Every patient in the Companion has a neglect state. Forget about them for 48+ hours and they roll nosocomial complications drawn from a clinically faithful catalogue — HAP, CAUTI, C. diff, DVT, sepsis, delirium, hypoglycaemia, medication-error death. Critical patients who go unattended flip to deceased and move to a Morgue section on the hub. Career stats and a Hall of Shame turn the consequences into a brag-and-laugh surface students share to their cohort group chats.
Route potency multipliers (IV 1.0 · IM 0.75 · SC 0.6 · oral 0.4), a server-side trust clock that arbitrates anti-cheat divergence, and push notifications that fire even when the app is closed — MedIntel is the only clinical app on the market that lets a student practise responsibility, not just lookups.
Educational simulation
Simulation patients are nicknamed and visually badged distinct from real Patient Companion entries. The product disclaimer rides everywhere it’s shown: not a clinical device.
- 5 scripted acute scenarios with deterministic HR / BP / SpO₂ / temp curves
- Push notifications fire when the app is closed (Code Blue interrupts work)
- Chronic neglect — 48+ h unattended → HAP, CAUTI, C. diff, DVT, sepsis, med-error
- Career Stats + shareable Hall of Shame (the cohort WhatsApp surface)

Reading is auto-logged. Twenty seconds on a drug profile or disease summary becomes a self-study credit, posted to the clinician’s CPD log against the right regulator: GMC, MDC, MDCN, RCPSC, AHPRA — 19 regulators across 16 countries, expanding. Export the log as a PDF for your annual revalidation; no copy-and-paste from spreadsheets.

19 regulators · 16 countries
Tanzania (MCT), Kenya (KMPDC), Uganda (UMDPC), Nigeria (MDCN), Ghana (MDC), South Africa (HPCSA), the UK (GMC), Canada (RCPSC), Australia (AHPRA), and 10 more — each with the regulator’s exact CPD category structure, so the export drops straight into annual revalidation.
The B2B counterpart for hospitals is MedIntel Clinical Profiling — same brand, same AI, deployed onto the hospital’s own Supabase + domain. Hospitals that license Clinical Profiling give their clinicians the MedIntel mobile app as part of the deal, so the same intelligence lives in their coat pocket and on the consulting-room screen.
